Please consider helping for a short time at WordCamp. You won’t be on your own! The Organizers are available all day to provide support.
Sign up and we’ll be in touch with you soon. In the comments field please give a role preference if you have one. If not, we’ll slot you in based on your availability and experience.
Setup
All of the morning-of set up before WordCamp begins including: place signs indoors at every room, hallways, and outside; set up tables and chairs for swag, registration, and happiness bar; bring water bottles to each room for speakers; set up cameras in each room.
Registration
Work in shifts throughout the day at the Registration table to check in every attendee, give out name badges and swag, and answer questions.
Lunch Escort
Lead attendees to the lunch location in a nearby building. We want 1 or 2 volunteers to help attendees get to the lunch location.
Room Monitor
Work in shifts in each room throughout the day to provide support during presentations. Duties include: start and end camera recordings, check to make sure the cameras are running during session, offer to keep time for the Speakers, provide support to Speaker (can contact Organizers as needed), report any issues or suggestions to Organizers. Typically the shifts are for morning or afternoon in 3 rooms, so 6 volunteers are needed.
Cleanup
At the end of WordCamp, make sure that all WordCamp items are removed from the venue or placed in receptacles including signs, trash, recycling, swag, leftover supplies, etc.
Happiness Bar
Bring happiness to all! Work in shifts to greet attendees at the Happiness Bar, help with WordPress issues, answer questions, provide suggestions and resources. This is a role for attendees with WordPress experience who want to share knowledge to help others. When the Happiness Bar is set up near Registration, volunteers may help cover the registration table later in the day for late arrivals.
