Jocelyn Mozak
Jocelyn has over a decade of experience building, running and wrangling a WordPress Website Design Agency all while having two boys at home and being a mentor and coach to other creative professionals.
While Jocelyn is an expert in thinking outside the box and filtering out the key points amidst all the noise, in her session, she’ll be talking all about the 5 Essential Questions you need to be asking on a sales call to not only ensure you don’t waste your time, but that you land the project and Nail the Sale.
Michelle Hayes
I met Michelle Hayes last year when she gave her first WordCamp talk ever here in Rochester! She had only been working with WordPress for about two years and had just started coming to WordPress meetups!
This year, Michelle is going to be talking all about plugins in her session What is a Plugin and How Do You Find the Good Ones? Come get your plugin questions answered (Like: Where do you find plugins? How do you know which plugins are good? How many plugins should you have? and more…)
William D. Jackson
William has been involved in the WordPress community since 2012 and advocating for the continued involvement of youth, teens and young adults. He teaches in higher education in the areas of Educational Technology, Diversity in Education and encourages college and university students to attend WordCamps, even taking several with him when he attends or speaks.
With the sudden transition to a digital environment for so many with the pandemic, it can be seen so clearly how each voice has an authentic and influential tone, inflection and quality that now has to rise above the static and noise.
WordPress can help individuals, businesses and entrepreneurs to
amplify their voice to get noticed and attract attention.
Come to William’s session and learn how to use WP to amplify your authentic voice.
WP Engine
I am loving this! I have a Platinum sponsor to rave about today. WP Engine gives companies of all sizes the agility, performance, intelligence, and integrations they need to drive their business forward faster. I know you want this! Check them out at www.wpengine.com anytime and in their virtual sponsor room. Maybe I’ll run into you there!
Jim Echter
I think I have a picture of Jim, his wife and I from last year’s WordCamp Rochester, but I can’t find it.
Jim has spoken at a lot of our WordCamps here in Rochester, as well as others. You can usually find Jim and his wife at our local WordPress meetups asking really good questions.
Oh no! We need a website. Now what? Have you been asking yourself this question? If you have, then you should plan to attend this session. Jim will tell you what to do!
Tara Johnson
I met Tara Johnson last year here at WordCamp Rochester!
This year she’s talking about reframing the act of selling and embracing the true nature of what it takes to move others and inspire positive change.
I wonder if Tara will share any names of the scary movies she likes to watch with her kids?
Michelle Frechette
Michelle is the one that is the inspiration behind little ole me, Brownie! She is also the founder of WordCamp Rochester.
Michelle is also an author and a podcaster in addition to being Head of Customer Success for Impress.org. (She’s a busy lady!)
In her session, Cups, community, and CoffeeTalk: Lessons learned over 100+ episodes of WPCoffeeTalk, she’s going to share what she’s learned from talking with over 100 guests on WPCoffeeTalk. Come to this session and learn more about who we are as a community!
Introducing Our WordCamp Rochester Speakers
Hi! I’m Brownie, WordCamp Rochester’s mascot and cheerleader. Sarah shared a few posts of mine already that I wrote last year when I was learning about Rochester, NY. It’s a pretty cool place! I know you can’t check out all the things that make Rochester special this year because of the pandemic, but I hope we get to meet some day.
I’m getting so excited for WordCamp Rochester on October 3rd! I can hardly believe it’ll be here in ONE MONTH!
Have you gotten your ticket yet? There’s still time!
I’m going to be spending the time between now and then introducing you to our speakers. (In no particular order, because I don’t play favorites…)
First, meet Bill Rice. He’s the CEO of Kaleidico, a digital agency specializing in lead generation.
Bill’s session is called Design websites that generate leads, which he says is about generating leads and revenue.
He’s promising to give us specific, simple, and actionable design patterns and examples that will immediate increase your site’s lead generation capabilities.
I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to learn how to better serve my clients (and I don’t even have any!)
